Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions were last updated on 16 March 2026.
Reset Style is operated by Samantha Howlett-Bolton and Emily Halcrow, each trading as sole traders under the Reset Style brand. Email: hello@resetstyle.com.
These Terms & Conditions are designed to create a clear, respectful, and stress-free experience for everyone. By booking Reset Style's services, you agree to the following.
1. Our Services
Reset Style provides home organising and decluttering services, including sorting, organising, space planning, and creating practical storage systems.
Services are time-based and charged for the time reserved in the diary, rather than guaranteed outcomes.
Light Surface Cleaning
As part of our organising work, Reset Style provides light surface cleaning only in the areas we are actively working in (for example, wiping shelves, cupboards, and benchtops once items have been organised).
This is not a deep cleaning service and does not include:
- Cleaning of appliances (including ovens, fridges, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, or microwaves)
- Floors, carpets, rugs, or upholstery
- Windows, walls, or skirting boards
- Bathrooms or specialist cleaning tasks
If a space requires deep cleaning, Reset Style may recommend that this is completed by a professional cleaner before or after an organising session.
2. What We Don't Do
Unless expressly agreed in writing in advance, Reset Style does not:
- Provide deep cleaning services
- Carry out repairs, maintenance, or installation work
- Move extremely heavy or unsafe items
- Remove bulky waste or hazardous materials
- Construct flat-pack or other furniture purchased by the client
- Provide valuation services or assess items for financial, collectible, or resale value
3. Client Responsibilities
- The client (or an authorised decision-maker) must be present during the session unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- All decisions about what to keep, donate, or discard remain entirely the client's responsibility.
- Verbal instructions and approvals given during a session constitute binding consent.
- The client agrees to provide accurate information about their space and any known risks.
- Clear and safe access to the working areas must be provided.
- Pets must be secured where reasonably practicable for safety.
If access to the property or agreed working areas is not available at the scheduled time, or conditions prevent safe work, the time will still be chargeable.
4. Decisions, Donations & Disposals
Reset Style acts only with the client's consent when relocating, donating, or discarding items.
Once items have been approved for donation or disposal, Reset Style accepts no responsibility for their loss, recovery, resale value, sentimental value, or any subsequent change of mind.
Reset Style does not guarantee that charities will accept donated items. Donation receipts (if required) are the responsibility of the client.
All decisions regarding possessions remain solely with the client at all times.
5. Care of Belongings & Liability
Reset Style takes reasonable care while working in your home. However:
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear and tear, fragile or unstable items.
- We are not liable for damage caused by faulty furniture, shelving, fixings, or structural issues.
- Liability arises only where loss or damage is directly caused by proven negligence.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including emotional distress, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity).
Our total liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
Reset Style maintains appropriate Public Liability Insurance.
6. Health, Safety & Working Conditions
Reset Style reserves the right to pause or end a session if working conditions are unsafe, including but not limited to:
- Mould, pests, biohazards, or unsafe structures
- Aggressive behaviour, harassment, or abusive language
- Undisclosed hazards
In such cases, fees for work completed, time reserved, and costs incurred up to the point of termination remain payable.
7. Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy is extremely important.
All personal information and details of your home are treated confidentially and handled in accordance with applicable data protection law. For full details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Photos or videos are only taken or used for marketing with your explicit written consent. Identifying details will never be shared without permission.
8. Bookings, Deposits & Payments
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
The deposit reflects administrative time, preparation, and the reservation of diary time which may not reasonably be rebooked if cancelled.
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is payable on the final day of the project unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If a session extends beyond the agreed time at the client's request, additional time will be charged at the agreed hourly rate.
Any items or materials purchased on behalf of the client must be paid in full on the final day of the project. Clients remain responsible for reimbursing approved purchases, even if the project is terminated early, where items have already been purchased.
Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with statutory rights, together with reasonable recovery costs where applicable.
Failure to make final payment may result in suspension of further services and recovery action.
9. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Client Cancellations
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session may transfer the deposit to a future booking, subject to availability.
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled session will result in loss of the deposit.
For bookings of two or more consecutive full days, where cancellation occurs within 7 days of the project start date, the deposit will be retained.
Reset Style Cancellations
If Reset Style needs to cancel due to illness, emergency, severe weather, transport disruption, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control, you will be offered:
- A rescheduled appointment, or
- A full refund of monies paid for the affected session.
10. Results & Maintenance
Reset Style aims to create functional and sustainable systems. However, long-term results depend on ongoing maintenance and individual habits. Specific outcomes, timelines, or financial benefits cannot be guaranteed.
11. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate services by giving no less than 48 hours' notice where reasonably possible.
Any work completed, time reserved, or costs incurred up to the point of termination remain payable.
Reset Style may terminate services immediately in cases of non-payment, unsafe working conditions, or inappropriate behaviour.
12. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, injury, extreme weather, transport disruption, power failure, or government restrictions.
13. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, please notify Reset Style in writing within 7 days of the session. We will aim to respond promptly and resolve concerns fairly before any further action is taken.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
15. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a session, paying a deposit, or engaging Reset Style's services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
